Jimmy Buffett, ‘Margaritaville’ singer, dead at 76

Jimmy Buffett, the tropical cantor whose homespun melodies celebrated his laid- back life, inspired legions of devoted suckers and spawned a economic business conglomerate, has failed, according to his sanctioned website and multiple media outlets.

 He was 76.

“ Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st girdled by his family, musketeers, music and tykes , ” a statement released on his social runner reads.

“ He lived his life like a song till the truly last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so multitudinous, ” the statement continued.

No cause of death was released.

The songster- tunesmith was compactly rehabilitated in May following a trip to the Bahamas. I had to stop in Boston for a check- up but wound up back in the sanitorium to address some issues that demanded immediate attention,  ” he told his followers in a social media post.

Buffett posted a day latterly that he was soon headed home from the sanitarium, and thanked his followers for the “ outpour of support and well wishes. ” He didn't partake what was ailing him, but said that he ’d be going on a “ fishing trip with old musketeers, along with paddling and sailing and get myself back by good shape ” upon his return home from the sanitarium.

Buffett was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and raised in the harborage city of Mobile, Alabama. He moved to Key West, Florida, where he set up his voice, his website says.

An gracious songster- tunesmith with a partiality for clever wordplay, Buffett largely ignored pop music trends and was noway a hitmaker or an MTV darling. “ Margaritaville, ” in 1977, was his only Top 10 song.

But he erected an enormous cult of suckers, affectionately known as “ Parrotheads, ” who embraced his vision of life spent in flip- duds, full of strands, boats, booze and weed.

latterly in his career, he parlayed his enduring fashionability into bestselling books, a Broadway musical comedy and a string of casual caffs
 , resorts and other gambles.

Buffett, who was instated into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006, won two Country Music Association awards during his career and was doubly nominated for Grammy Awards.

Before his death, Buffett was preparing to release a new record, with songs previewed weekly on Radio Margaritaville, according to his website.

Buffett leaves behind his woman , Jane Slagsvol, and three children.
